Our Buddhist-centered Sunday School offers a warm, nurturing environment where children ages 5 to 14 can learn the foundations of mindfulness, compassion, and ethical living. Through age-appropriate stories from the life of the Buddha, guided breathing exercises, creative activities, and meaningful discussions, children discover how to bring kindness, awareness, and calm into their daily lives. Each lesson is carefully designed to help young minds develop emotional resilience, curiosity, and empathy in a supportive and joyful setting.
Working in small peer groups, students explore practical tools for navigating challenges, understanding their emotions, and building healthy relationships. They learn to cultivate gratitude, generosity, patience, and respect—core Buddhist values that empower them to thrive at home, in school, and in the wider world. Our Sunday School aims to inspire children to grow into mindful, compassionate individuals while also fostering a sense of community, belonging, and shared well-being.
Vipassana means to see things clearly and as they truly are. Without proper training it’s very difficult to see past the disillusions presented to us in everyday life. Our disillusionment is the result of social constructs and bias as well as our own prejudice and bias towards ourselves and others.
As such, we live in a dissatisfied state of existence continually looking for peace, harmony, and balance.
Originating in India, Vipassana was rediscovered by Buddha over 2,500 years ago and has been continually taught since and is a remedy for eradication of mental impurities resulting in lasting happiness and liberation.
